Mission/Purpose

Guiding people to know and intentionally follow Jesus Christ.

Racing to keep up with the fast pace and material wealth in this part of York Region has left many people empty inside. While people seem to “have it all” and are always on the go, many long for deeper meaning, purpose, relationships and significance. Many also wonder about God, wanting to connect with Him, or are interested in the teachings of Jesus. Summit Community Church was started to give hope to people on such quests, as we respond to His commission:

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Jesus) Matthew 28:18,19

To become a loving community that intentionally follows Jesus Christ and expresses His transforming presence in our world.

Becoming more like Jesus in character, attitude and behaviour (provide life-applicable teaching and inspiring worship).

Belonging together in biblical community of a small group, ministry team or mentoring relationship (cultivate biblical community and loving relationships).

Building the Church with our spiritual gifts and God-given talents (instill empowering leadership and gift-based servanthood).

Blessing God and others with our financial and material resources (encourage generous giving to local and global mission).
