Welcome:
Celebrate Recovery is a 12-step program to help anyone and everyone find lasting freedom from their hurts, hang-ups and habits. You will be welcomed by smiling faces as you walk through the door. Our leaders are very friendly and know how hard it is to come that first time. Our goal is to help you relax and feel comfortable.
General Meeting:
The evening will start with a large gathering that will include a music time and either a lesson or a personal testimony on a particular topic. Example topics are: Denial, Powerlessness, Turn, Action and Forgiveness. The lessons are short but very compelling and will be shared with you by a teacher. On testimony night, someone will stand before you to share their story of struggle and how they found healing. As you listen, you will no doubt relate to something the testimony speaker shares. It takes a lot of courage for them to get up and be so transparent, but it takes just as much courage to listen and take it to heart.
First Timers:
If it’s your first time, after the general meeting is over, we have a special small group just for you. Newcomers 101 is where you will learn more about Celebrate Recovery, hear personal mini-testimonies, and get your questions about CR answered. After, there will be a short gender specific time of sharing.
Open Share Groups:
After the main meeting is over, the large group will split up into groups that are divided by gender and issue (if possible). The open share group format is structured to keep each person focused on the topic of the night and how they personally relate to it. This is a time to open up and share. Sharing with your group is optional so you never have to speak. It is important that everyone abide by the Group Guidlines so that this is a safe place.
Summit Cafe Time:
One of the most important things you can do at CR is begin to build healthy relationships with others who understand what you are going through. This is why we encourage our small groups to spend some time chatting together after your open share group. Sometimes relief can come simply by realizing we are not alone.
All in all, Celebrate Recovery is a relaxed environment to where everyone should feel safe to share and feel free from pressure. We hope you will come and check it out for yourself.
